If I remembered correctly, the first American television that I've watched was CBS 2, when were stationed overseas, my husband and I are always watching News and television shows from CBS. They have a great informative news delivered everyday and educational show that I always watch. Anyway, speaking of CBS 2, do you know Anchor Laura Diaz of CBS 2 KCAL 9 News Team? Well, to give you a brief biography of Ms. Laura Diaz, she is the first generation Mexican American, born and raised in Santa Paula, California. Her parents worked as a laborer in the fields. She graduated from William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In 1997, she became part of Los Angeles television history when she was named lead anchor for the station’s centerpiece 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.She is an eight-time Emmy Award winner and has also won two Golden Mike Awards in 2005 and 2006 for best feature reporting. In June 2005 she was able to interview incoming Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. This honor earned her a national Imagen Award in 2006In 1997 Laura Diaz was named lead anchor for KCBS-TV’s 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. This promotion made her the first female Hispanic weekday news anchor at an English language television station in LA. Although, she is very busy with her schedule but still she have a spare time to enjoy her lifestyle and spending time with her extended family.
